A new chapter in the outlaw legacy has arrived. Struggle Jennings is set to release his highly anticipated full length album Last Name this Friday, March 13 through Angels & Outlaws and ONErpm. The project represents one of the most personal and defining releases of his career, paying tribute to his legendary family roots while telling the raw, unfiltered story of the man behind the music.
As the grandson of country music icons Waylon Jennings and Jessi Colter, Struggle Jennings carries a last name that helped shape the Outlaw Country movement. Waylon Jennings was one of the most influential artists in country music history, helping redefine the genre in the 1970s by rejecting the polished Nashville system and embracing a rebellious, authentic sound that spoke directly to working class America.

That outlaw spirit lives on through Struggle Jennings, but his story did not follow the same path as the legendary artists in his family. Despite coming from country music royalty, Struggle grew up far removed from the spotlight. Raised by a single mother in low income housing, he often felt like the black sheep of the Jennings family. His upbringing in the rougher parts of West Nashville exposed him to a very different reality than the one most people associate with famous musical families.
Those experiences would eventually shape the music he makes today. Struggle Jennings has built a reputation for brutally honest storytelling, drawing from his own life struggles including addiction, incarceration and redemption. His music often focuses on themes of faith, perseverance and self reflection, giving fans a level of authenticity that is rare in modern music.
Before finding success, Struggle faced serious adversity. He served a five year prison sentence on drug related charges before being released in 2016. Instead of letting that chapter define him, he used it as motivation to rebuild his life and focus fully on music. Since then, he has released multiple projects, performed for sold out crowds across the country and built a fiercely loyal fanbase that connects with both his music and his message.
The new album Last Name represents the next evolution of that journey. The project dives deep into Struggle’s identity as both an artist and a member of one of country music’s most iconic families. Each track explores different pieces of his story, confronting the past while embracing the responsibility that comes with carrying the Jennings name into a new generation.
The album blends classic outlaw country influences with modern production and the emotional intensity that has become Struggle’s signature style. The result is a record that feels deeply rooted in tradition while still pushing the sound forward.
The tracklist includes twelve songs that reflect a wide range of emotion and storytelling. Country Rap News is excited about this project we cant wait for its release and we will also be dropping an interview with Struggle Jennings himself very soon!

Beyond the music itself, Last Name represents a deeper exploration of Struggle Jennings’ personal identity. The album wrestles with the meaning of legacy and what it truly means to carry a famous family name. Rather than simply celebrating that heritage, Struggle uses the record to examine the weight of it, confronting his past mistakes while embracing the responsibility of representing the Jennings name in a new era.
Over the last several years, Struggle Jennings has grown into one of the most recognizable voices in the modern outlaw and country rap scenes. His music bridges the gap between traditional country storytelling and the raw energy of hip hop, creating a sound that resonates with a wide audience across multiple genres.
